More Life Drawing

Here are some more of the drawings from the second week. The second time was a lot easier. We will be hosting another workshop in September for any locals who would like to join us.

Flight of Fancy

The drawing competition is on Thursday and I had no idea what to do for it. Flight of Fancy is very difficult for a reasonably well grounded Capricorn, and that is the subject! I started drawing my little dog and then got carried away with fairies etc. Maybe not so well grounded! The closer you look the more you will see. Very strange and rather amusing drawing I think. While I have been drawing fairies, Cape Town is once again burning. Yes, it is February and our winelands are taking a beating. Three winefarms in Somerset West have had extensive damage done to them and we are choking on the ash that has blown towards Table Mountain. Today helicopters have been grounded due to bad weather conditions and my house looks like a giant with dandruff has had a good shake of this head!

Cam

Back to another charcoal! This one is for you Cam (a little girl who lives in Durban)- I haven't met you but have heard all about just how cute you are and I only hope that you like this and that I have done you justice! Maybe one day we will meet.

Portrait of a Dog called Baksheesh

For anyone who might wonder about the dog's name, he was a stray "adopted" by my sister and hence free or "Baksheesh".

More Family

This is a drawing of my son and his fiance The photograph on which it was based was taken in the early days of their relationship! This is one of my favourites and I will be getting it framed soon for hanging in my studio. This drawing is from a photograph taken by I don't know who on a fancy cruise liner!

My Daughter

This is my gorgeous red headed, blue eyed daughter. The original photo was taken by her boyfriend and is incredible! This is definitely one I want to paint when I have a bit more experience!

Pencil drawing (My Dad)

This is one of the first portraits since I started drawing again - it's of my father who passed away on the 1st September 2005. I miss him terribly and am busy with an acrylic portrait of him at the moment.
