Exhibition at Kirstenbosch

I recently joined this Art Society after being on the waiting list for a year! They only take 120 members due to the venue being very small. I hope it has been worth the wait. I am exhibiting two small paintings this time, feeling my way.

Good luck with the exhibition! It is great to get your paintings out there, take the opportunities that come your way! What paintings are you exhibiting?

I was feeling my way and only entered two totally different ones - The Simonstown Waterfront and the swan and roses which I named In My Minds Eye. It is a very small exhibition but from what I could see the standard was high which is great.

Your paintings look great at the exhibition and what a stunning position.

Slangkop Lighthouse, Kommetjie

SOLD Slangkop lighthouse is the tallest iron tower on the South African Coast and sits at the one end of Kommetjie. It measures 100 feet from base to the balcony and has been operational since 1919. Every lighthouse has a different frequency of flashes and this one emits four flashes every 30 seconds as it turns and can be seen for 33 sea miles. Here is an oil painting of the lighthouse from a photograph Bryan took. I would like to do a watercolour of it sometime soon.
