Painting out in the open again

For the past couple of weeks we have been painting at Cheval Voyeur in Phillipi, a beautiful farm owned by Colleen and John Beake who have welcomed us painters with open arms. Thank you Colleen and John for sharing this beautiful environment with us.

Wow Marie, that is praise indeed coming from you. Thank you so much. I thought my technique was sadly lacking, but maybe it is not so bad after all! You have made my day!

Wow Carol, I love this painting! It is so atmospheric and you have handled the paint superbly! I am impressed that you have managed to paint en plein air and then complete the painting from memory. This is definitely the way to go when painting outdoors, you need to take it home and then do the problem solving and fix any composition problems using your knowledge of design elements. Not an easy thing to do!

I don't know why I didn't comment on this before - probably because I've already told you that I think it is superb! You've caught the farm perfectly in this one.
